How Georgetown Arrests Become Records
Georgetown serves as the Scott County seat. The April 1, 2020 Census counted 37,086 residents. Two key buildings anchor local justice here: the Scott County Justice Center and the Scott County Detention Center. The Georgetown Police Department patrols around the clock. When an officer makes an arrest, the report captures the incident itself. Jail staff build the separate record. That booking file only exists if the person is actually booked. The detention center is the first stop to check, not a guaranteed destination for every Georgetown arrest. A person might get a citation instead. Some are released, moved to another facility, or held until booking finishes; Georgetown Police can name the arresting agency and the transport path, while the jail confirms current Scott County custody.
Where Georgetown Recent Arrests Appear
Georgetown Police publishes no daily arrest log, same-day booking feed, or official mugshot gallery. The department's site still offers help. Its News & Announcements area, calendar, and Community Crime Map track public safety, but none serves as a complete booking roster. Each channel covers a different stage of the record.
| Channel | What it covers | Photo status | Authority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Georgetown Police | Agency contact and city police information | No booking gallery | Official city source |
| Detention Center lookup | Current Scott County custody | Public photos removed in 2026 | Official jail source |
| News-Graphic public notice | Dated, multi-day detention list | No photos in inspected notice | News/public-notice source |
| RecentlyBooked Scott | County index that may include city arrests | May display photos | Unofficial and stale-prone |
| Kentucky Arrests.org Scott | County index with a Georgetown Police agency label | Displays booking-style photos | Unofficial and not proof |
Official sources come first. Police, jail, and court records lead any identity or custody check. A third-party listing can be incomplete, duplicated, old, or flat wrong, and its staying online says nothing about whether a person is still jailed.
Arrested in Georgetown: Booking Check
Georgetown posts no booking feed of its own. So the freshest official check is a short sequence, run with identifying details beyond a shared name and the custody stage kept in view.
- Start at the official Scott County Detention Center inmate-lookup landing page and read its charge-versus-conviction warning.
- Follow the roster link to the Scott County JailTracker application. Compare all available identifiers, dates, charges, bond, and facility status.
- If a new Georgetown arrest is absent, allow for intake and vendor lag. No official source publishes a precise arrest-to-posting interval.
- Call the detention center at 502-863-7880 to ask whether intake is complete or whether the person remains in county custody.
- Contact Georgetown Police at 502-863-7826 if the person may have been cited, released, or transported elsewhere. Request the incident report when a lasting city record is needed.
The live roster shows who is in custody now. It is not a full Georgetown arrest history. A release or transfer can wipe a name off while the police report, jail booking file, newspaper notice, or court case lives on. The county's recent-arrests hub explains those stages. Note: A roster error or a missing name calls for direct verification, not a quick conclusion that no arrest occurred.
Georgetown Police Arrest Records
Different offices hold these records. The city report covers police activity. The detention record covers intake, custody, and any booking photograph on file, so ask the office that created the exact record you need.
550 Bourbon Street
Georgetown, KY 40324
Police: 502-863-7826
Dispatch: 502-863-7820
Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The city's Open Records Request page takes written requests by mail, in person, email, or online. Kentucky residents can use the online request form. The city promises an answer within five working days. Describe the person, the approximate arrest date, the agency, and the report you want, and ask for an existing record rather than a compiled narrative.
| Published Georgetown item | Amount |
|---|---|
| First 25 pages | Free |
| Black-and-white letter page | $0.10 |
| Color page | $0.25 |
| Photograph up to 8 by 10 | $0.10 black-and-white or $0.25 color |
| CD | $2 |
| Postage | Actual cost |
Those fees are city fees. They do not apply to a detention-center request. For a jail booking file or a specific booking photo, call the jail and ask for a fee estimate, the format, any exemption explanation, and retention status. The city's Open Records Request page shows the Georgetown records route.

It shows the city records path, not the jail's.
Scott County Booking Photos After Arrest
Scott County pulled inmate mugshots from the public jail website in January 2026. Names and charges stayed up. A blank photo box fits county policy. It does not mean no booking image was created. Kentucky's Open Records Act still allows a request for a specific photograph. Exemptions, retention rules, privacy, and safety limits all apply. Requests go to the detention center. Name the person and the approximate arrest date. Give the arresting agency too. Request the image if it is maintained and not exempt. The jail posts no copy-fee schedule, so ask about cost before ordering. Never treat a photo lifted from an unofficial page as the county's current record. The official Georgetown Police page gives the city agency context.

Custody and photo questions go to the detention center.
Georgetown Arrest News and Blotters
Newspaper blotters still do real work in Scott County. The Georgetown News-Graphic prints dated Scott County Detention Center notices, and each list carries names, ages, hometowns, charges, and bond amounts. Photos are left out. One September 2025 notice covered bookings from September 4 through 11, so an arrest stays traceable even after the person drops off the current roster. It is not a live feed, though. Print schedules lag behind the jail.
Two unofficial indexes also cover the county. RecentlyBooked and Arrests.org gather booking entries by county, and Arrests.org tags Georgetown Police on some listings. Treat those tags as leads, not proof of custody. The detention center, Georgetown Police, and the Scott County Circuit Clerk remain the sources that settle questions. Start there, then turn to the clerk for how a case ended.
Note: Unofficial indexes offer leads, so confirm dates, identity, custody, and charges with official records.
From Georgetown Booking to Court
A Georgetown arrest splits into separate records fast. The Scott County Detention Center answers who is held right now and keeps the booking file. Georgetown Police holds its own incident report. The Scott County Circuit Clerk keeps the court record, which can later show a plea, a dismissal, an acquittal, or a conviction.
- Arrest report
- The city police record of the enforcement event.
- Booking record
- The jail's intake and custody record after admission.
- Current roster
- A changing list of people presently held, not a historical arrest archive.
- Disposition
- The court outcome that must be checked before drawing a conclusion from a charge.
The official Scott County court page names the Justice Center and the clerk who runs it. A name can vanish from the roster. That changes nothing. The city report, the jail request, a dated notice, and the clerk record each answer a different question. Keeping them apart keeps a Georgetown arrest search honest.
